Broken Symmetry - 10/5/2021

Broken Symmetry is an experimental generative art project that explores the idea of warping both the geometry and color of a rotationally symmetric object. Broken Symmetry pieces begin life as a Rosette - a pattern with symmetry from the cyclic group (rotational symmetry) and diheral group (mirror symmetry). Each rosette is unique. The geometry of the rosette is then broken by warping it smoothly. The piece is then colored using a procedurally generated color palette that is continuously warped as well.
